The Warfare in a Marital Relationship
Dec 13, 2024Are you married? If not, do you desire to be married? If you answered yes to any of those, then you need to read this.
We are in a season and time of spiritual warfare and attacks on marriages. The enemy hates covenant relationships. You know why? It's because it represents Christ. It represents Kingdom. He's always trying to use people, situations and circumstances to bring division and a great fall to marriages.
So whether you are married or desire to be married, I want to give you strategy on how to cover your marriage during a time of spiritual warfare:
- Humble yourself. Don't think that you are perfect. Listen to your spouse when they tell you they need certain changes in the relationship. If you don't humble yourself, pride will win and bring your marriage or future marriage to a great fall.
- Pray. Pray without ceasing in regards to your marriage. Pray for each other. Pray with each other. Pray so that you can win against the wiles of the enemy.
- Open your eyes to see what the enemy is doing. Ask God to take the scales off of both your eyes so that you know how to fight the enemy and NOT each other.
- Apologize frequently. It promotes humility. God exalts those who are humble. He will exalt your marriage when there is humility.
- Listen to each other's hearts. Care about what they care about. Hear the need and do something about the need.
- Have sex as often as needed. Every relationship is different when it comes to how much you should have sex. Talk to your spouse to see what kind of compromises you both need to make to see that each other's needs are met.
- Be consistent. Do all of the above.... again and again. Do what you say you are going to do when you say you're going to do it. Stay consistent in the right things, and your marriage will go in the right direction! #Selah
