ARE YOU DISTRACTED?

You know…..the Lord will NOT allow me to get this out of my spirit!  You are in a season of TRANSITION, and as you are in this season of transition, the enemy is strategically trying to set up road blocks and distractions so that you will NOT fulfill the call or the purpose that you have on your life!  Not only that, he’s trying (or will try) to do everything to keep you from tapping into your next level!

For many, that next level could be in your marriage, ministry, on your job, in your business, in communicating and fellowshipping with God, in being the best wife, mother, husband, father etc.  Whatever it is, you can sense a tug in your spirit to be stronger and better….to go higher and walk in purpose like never before! Oh yeah….that’s the Holy Spirit pulling on you.  He’s letting you know that there is so much more to come with your life! So much more!! However, I came to ask you…..are you focused?  Are you ready?  You’re not distracted are you??

Distractions come in many different forms.  Often times, we can’t grow closer to God because we allow work, people and even relationships to take away our focus.  We give 110% to them, but when it comes to giving God a little bit of your time on Wednesdays (or whatever day your church meets during the week) and then again a little bit of your time on Sundays….it seems to be team too much! Why?? It’s simple….your focus isn’t on God like it should.  Your focus is on “things” and not the one who can supply you with the “things”.

Or, are you working too much that you’re missing important time with your spouse or your kids?  What’s your prayer life like?  How about fasting?  What about that book you’re suppose to be writing or that business you’re suppose to be starting?  Wait…..what about those blogs you’re suppose to be writing or that vision board that you keep saying you’re going to put together.  What about you putting forth the effort to be a better spouse cause you knooooow you been tripping here lately? Or what about _______________________________________??  This time I’m letting you fill in the blank.  What is it that you know you should be doing better or more of, but you simply can’t because you’re distracted by all the “other” stuff that you should be doing??

Well, it sounds to me like you need to prioritize just a little bit more.  What is it that really and truly needs your focus……LIKE RIGHT NOW??  No more delaying. You said you were going to do it, so why not make it happen captain?

I’m going to leave you with this.  Nehemiah understood the art of being focused.  When people came and tried to get him off course, he stayed focused.  He knew what he needed to do and how he needed to do it.  It’s time for you to do the same thing.  Start preparing to go into this New Year more focused, balanced and determined than ever before to be the absolute best YOU that you can possibly be.  No one else can do it for you.  It’s time for you to make a move.  The ball is in your court. Now see….You just got this awesome revelation or for many….this awesome reminder that you are simply DISTRACTED! Let’s do better.  Get focused.  Learn from Nehemiah!

6 When word came to Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab and the rest of our enemies that I had rebuilt the wall and not a gap was left in it—though up to that time I had not set the doors in the gates— 2 Sanballat and Geshem sent me this message: “Come, let us meet together in one of the villages[a] on the plain of Ono.” But they were scheming to harm me; 3 so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down.
